Born in Tver, Russia, Tatiana Korotkova is a talented artist, painting primarily landscape, still life and portraiture in oils, her favourite medium. Tatiana’s passion for landscape work, particularly winter scenes seems to have grown from her early life, spent with her grandmother in rural Russia, where a love of nature was cultivated through first-hand experience. Tatiana has extended this affinity into her work, spending much of her time travelling and working on plein air as it is this method of painting that connects Tatiana so viscerally to her subject matter.
Tatiana’s early life was enriched with artistic pursuits including ballet, music, painting and sewing, which became her first career of choice. Tatiana attended the Moscow Institute of Fashion and Design, receiving her fashion accreditation and worked at the Fashion House in Tver, all the while continuing to paint. Ultimately following her artistic dreams, Tatiana attended the Art College of Venetsianov and the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov, where she honed her techniques and inspired her artistic sensibilities.
Tatiana has participated in multiple personal and group shows and has been recognized for her work as the recipient of numerous awards in Russia. Tatiana’s work can be found in private collections in both Russia and Canada. Tatiana makes Canada her new home where she continues to paint and teach.
