A 30 year career in Graphic Design included implementing and teaching a Computer Graphics Training program at the GCIU Local 500m for unemployed union members, teaching Continuing Education at George Brown College, creating and publishing a Children’s Art and Activity Journal for the new millennium and numerous volunteer art projects with her children’s schools and various Girl Guide units in and around Thornhill. A love of art and a desire for change has inspired her to pursue art full time and now dedicates most of her time to developing and promoting her artwork and teaching.

GuoYue Dou

Graduated from Tianjin Art College, China working as a graphic designer and art professor, then moved to New York where he continued as an artist and graphic designer. Immigrated to Canada in 1996 and now specializes in portraiture.

Yuni Ko

Yuni ko studied at Emily Carr University Arts and Design in Vancouver and École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris where she studied her visual arts. B.A. She also studied interior design at Int’l Academy of Design in Toronto. She received a Children’s Art and Art Therapy Certificate at Korea Children’s Teacher Academy.

Yuni is the recipient of several international juried art awards. Her work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group shows, art fairs, galleries and museums. Her work is found in private and public collections in the U.S., France, England, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Japan, Korea and Canada. She is an innovative art teacher who inspires young people. Many of her students have received art awards and certificates and won art contests.

Students are taught in a positive and fun classroom atmosphere. Each student is encouraged to express their unique creativity and imagination throughout the learning process. We are excited to offer a fun-filled, multi-media children’s art class again at the Mill Pond Art Gallery. Students will be exploring new techniques, using various media, and encouraged to express their unique creativity throughout their learning process.

My teaching method has come from The John Smith School of Art, Toronto. I have been teaching children the fundamentals of art for 30 years (mixed media) & adults in oil for 4 years. I’ve been a potter for 15 years producing thousands of functional & sculptural pieces. My art can be seen in many private collections. I continue to learn & grow as an artist & teacher.

All Media for Children ages 8-16


This is a program of basic art in a variety of media. The students are a mix of ages and abilities; sometimes working from one still life, learning about perspective, form pattern & composition or on individual works. They work in pencil, pencil crayon, ink, watercolour & acrylic. I am always striving to improve their motor skills, an understanding of shapes, imagination and creativity, in a fun, positive, nurturing environment.

Khatcho Yazedjian

Immigrated to Canada in 1970. In 1961 after 4 years of study, graduated from Italian Art Schools Leonardo Da Vinci’s Technical and Architectural draftsman. Khatcho has been a member of RHGA since 1977. His preferred medium is watercolour, which he utilizes to depict Canadian landscape and wildlife with mystique and transparency.
