RHGA Today
The RHGA is now located at the Mill Pond Gallery at 314 Mill Street, right across from the historic Mill Pond. The Richmond Hill Group of Artists opened The Mill Pond Gallery in June 1994 and operates with the generous support from the Town of Richmond Hill. The Gallery provides local artists the opportunity to exhibit their work. The RHGA is for everyone who enjoys the creation and appreciation of art. We establish friendships and share information with others who are interested in the arts. One of the foremost goals of the RHGA is to provide educational opportunities for the members, as well as the community at large. Regular demonstrations, workshops and critiques by visiting artists are held for members (and non members at a nominal fee). Lessons in all media for adults and children are held on a regular basis for both members and non members.

History of the RHGA
The Richmond Hill Group of Artists was formed in February 1978 with ten enthusiastic members and a lot of dreams. Over the years, the group has grown both in size and experience. Over this long period of time, the RHGA held meetings and workshops at many locations: such as the basement of the Dairy Queen, schools, community halls and the Heritage Centre on Church Street. The aims and activities of the group were and still are to provide a common meeting place for fellow artists of all levels, both professional and non-professional. There, they can exchange ideas and opinions related to their artistic endeavors. |
